There are a variety of scholarship awards for students majoring in special education, including the Department of Special Education scholarship awards, the College of Education scholarship awards program, and State of Illinois and federal scholarships, grants, and awards.
There are a number of scholarships and awards available to Special Education students. Learn about the scholarships available during 2011-2012 academic year. Note: Availability and size may change due to fluctuations in endowments.

To be considered for a scholarship through the Department of Special Education, you must meet the following guidelines:
If you win a scholarship, we expect that you will make every attempt to attend the Scholarship and Awards Ceremony during Family Weekend in the fall semester. Your attendance at this very important event will be a way to celebrate your outstanding accomplishment with your family, meet other student winners, get recognized, have your picture taken, and possibly meet the donor of your scholarship.
The online application is closed. Scholarship applications are accepted March 1-31 of each year.
Award recipients will notified by the end of June. Awardees will be notified by mail at their permanent address on file at Illinois State (update your address). An awards ceremony will take place in the Fall during Family Weekend.
