Requirements for certification as a Director of Special Education are met through completion of a non-degree, post-master's program. Students seeking Director of Special Education certification must be admitted to the department as a post-master's graduate certificate student. Successful completion of required course work will enable students to meet Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) standards leading to the Director of Special Education certification.
